Our History

The founding partners of SolarCube have amongst them decades of experience in the construction and maintenance of PV parks, and the metal construction and production industry.

Having worked together in earlier parts of their career, they decided to set up their own company, SolarCube in 2010 – as they realized the opportunities presented by the evolution of the PV market.

The Team

Panos Bitarchas – Managing Director

Panos Bitarchas has 5 years experience in the photovoltaic sector and prior to that he spent 10 years in the metal construction industry.  Panos started his career as a project manager at Ferro constructions, where he specialized in complex roofs for industrial and commercial buildings in Greece. Following that, he established a company which focused on construction projects for the Olympic Games in Greece as well as industrial and commercial projects for multinational companies in the Middle East. Subsequently, he joined Gehrlicher Solar – a leader in the PV market – as a Sales Director and co-CEO responsible for the Greek market. He is one of the first members of the Hellenic Photovoltaic Association since 2006.

Giannis Agritharakis – Technical Director

Giannis Agritharakis was raised in Germany. He has 9 years experience in the PV sector. In 2003 he co-founded a company focusing on installation and maintenance of photovoltaic parks with activities in Germany and Greece. After that he joined Gehrlicher Solar as a Technical Director and co-CEO responsible for the Greek market. Giannis studied at the University of Berlin, Electrical Engineering Department where he focused on renewable energy and PV in particular. Fluent in six languages.

Spyros Kottaras – Production Director

Spyros Kottaras has 25 years experience in large scale steel construction projects. He was involved in many of the largest construction projects in Greece such as the Greek Olympic Equestrian Centre, Greek Olympic Shooting Centre, Greek weightlifting Hall, large industrial units, as well as supermarkets for Greek and multinational clients. Since 2008 he has been applying his expertise in the Solar Energy sector .He holds a degree in Mechanical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a degree in Physics from the University of Patras.

Matoula Sideri – Sales Director

Matoula started her career at Kion Engineering. She gained five years experience in Electrical and Mechanical projects across a variety of sectors (Oil industry, Hospitals, Infrastructure Networks for National Roads, Residential and Commercial real estate). At the same time, she worked as a consultant for Photovoltaic projects. She has a degree in Mechanical Engineering of Energy Technology from the Technological Institute of Athens, Department of Energy.

Emmanuel Vergetis – Project Manager

Emmanuel Vergetis has been a technical advisor in PV parks since 2007. Prior to that he held various positions as a mechanical engineer in the shipping industry. He enjoys extensive experience in EPC Solar constructions of all scales. He holds a degree from the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens.
